Uproot Overwhelm and Overeating and Unleash Your Inner Champion.
Personal Coaching: Get Beyond What’s Got You Stuck
Are you ready to end persistent, vicious cycles with stress, too-much-to-do, and start getting fit, healthy, and happy?
There is a big difference between surviving and thriving. Too many working moms, busy professionals and women business owners feel stuck in vicious cycles with what I call the 3 Os – Overwhelm, Overload, and Overeating. When work life balance isn’t happening, the toll can affect everything – including your health, your relationships, your professional success, and your happiness.
Does this scenario ring a bell?
You are a busy woman and a hard worker. Your to-do list is longer than the hours in the day. You get a ton done but there always seems to be more to do. And that me-time and self-care you know you need? It’s just not happening in spite of all your best intentions. Maybe you collect articles on time management, getting organized, 15 minute fitness secrets, and stress busting techniques. Do they work? Probably not—but you might not even know for sure. If you are like many busy, overloaded women, you likely haven’t found the time or the energy to read them and put the self-help tips into action.
You know there is a better way. Maybe you even blame yourself for not having found it yet. After all, you might be a perfectionist with very high expectations who can easily see how you “should” be able to accomplish what you want to. But you are tired. You might be sleep deprived (many women are), and you’re sure you could be eating better…
In short, you might feel trapped in a vicious cycle of stress, to-much-to-do, and habits that not only aren’t working for you, they might be making everything more difficult. Yo-yo dieting, shopping for comfort, too much time escaping into sleep or Facebook or something else that isn’t getting you where you want to go, stress eating, busy work, and not enough play and fun. And not enough mojo to break the cycle on your own.
Words like ease, abundance, thriving, and joy are not the words you are using to describe your life.
If you can relate—even a teensy bit—read on.
Vicious cycles and chronic life imbalances are like hamster wheels. Many of the skills we rely on, like persistence and hard work, won’t change them. In fact, sometimes they can make them worse (think of that hamster—running harder just makes that hamster wheel go around faster – nothing changes). I’m a huge believer in the power of small steps and gradual change. But sometimes, these are not enough.
When you are stuck in patterns that are not working for you, what works is radical change. In order to get off the hamster wheel, you have to know how to stop the forward momentum and step sideways. You need to figure out how to do things differently.
For many already busy women, the move from surviving to thriving requires a radical or quantum shift—a shift in your approach, your mindset, and in your lifestyle. These powerful shifts rarely happen when you are approaching change on your own.
Sometimes you need someone else to help you carve out an approach that pays off.
If you read my newsletter, listen to the audios I send out, resonate with my updates, and still fill as if you are knocking your head against the wall or like your progress has stalled, it’s likely that you need help making that quantum shift and you may want to consider one of my personal coaching programs or my emotional eating coaching program.
The thing about quantum shifts is that they are often impossible to see from inside the vantage point of your current life. Sometimes we are so familar with how we do things that we can’t even see that another way is possible. Even trickier—sometimes we “kind of” see another way, but, we have massive blind spots that make getting there very difficult.
How exactly might I be able to help you with this?
As a clinical psychologist and internationally certified personal coach and consultant, I’ve spent over twenty years studying the art of successful change and helping women create lasting shifts in their stress, their happiness, their work life balance, their eating, and their health. There’s a strategy and an art to this and the assistance that I offer when I coach is very different from what most of us encounter with our friends or in our close relationships. I’m not just a kind person (although people describe me as warm and very supportive). I’m also not like your old PE teacher who stood on the sidelines yelling for you to work harder—but I will hold you to your commitments and I will tell you the difficult truth when hearing it is crucial to your success. If you’ve never worked with a coach, you might find that the approach that I take with my clients is actually the beginning of the shift you are seeking—gentle, firm, honest, respectful, do-able, and success-oriented.
As a personal coach, I partner with you to accomplish your goals, honor your priorities, and create your best life. I take your journey seriously, and hold your goals as important and worthy of respect and I ask you to do the same—even (especially!) in the midst of your busy life.
My job is to see beyond your frustration, your perfectionism, and the “old ways” of doing things that haven’t worked. I’m actually quite talented at seeing possibilities and alternate perspectives for my clients and helping them work smarter instead of harder.
I help my clients untangle mindsets that sabotage them or leave them feeling bad about themselves and support them as they step into ways of thinking that encourage and unleash, success. Those niggling voices that tell you that you don’t deserve what you are striving for, that you shouldn’t ask for so much, that you shouldn’t need help? That voice that whispers that you’ll always be fat or that success won’t last? I partner with my clients to call out those inner critics and create ways to take back control.
It’s not about being perfect. I expect that you will have bad days (or even weeks)—we all do. And I also hold the confident belief that you can get through them and still be effective. The bad days aren’t something to blame yourself for and success is only real if it can actually happen in the midst of your actual life.
As a personal coach, I help my clients see the “holes” or the missing pieces in their path for success. I will encourage you to learn to flex and stretch new muscles and create new habits that work better for you and your life.
Did you hear me say that part about working smarter instead of harder? I am passionate about honoring what you do well and helping you leverage it so that you can create more ease and comfort in your life. You have created success and many good things in your life with your existing strengths. Let’s use these to make your life better in the easiest ways possible.
