Emotional eating? How to use a food journal

Should I keep a food journal? Should I log my food? These are questions that I hear a lot.

Actually, the question I really hear is: “I feel like I should keep a food journal – how can I make myself do it?”

There are reasons that most women hate journaling about what they eat – and there are a few changes you can implement to make it incredibly useful and a LOT more pleasant.

In this video, I’m answering the following questions:

  • Will a food journal help with emotional eating?
  • Why do I avoid keeping a food journal and is there a way to do it that doesn’t feel so bad?
  • If I overeat or am an emotional eater, what kinds of things should I include in my food journal?
  • I’ve written down everything I eat before and it hasn’t helped. Am I doing something wrong?

Don’t be afraid to watch – this isn’t the advice about keeping a food diary that you’re probably used to!
