You’re not a newbie at this. You know that resolutions sound like a great idea, but they hardly ever last past February. Still, they ARE tempting. I think I may be a lot like you. I’m a sucker for fresh starts and new beginnings. I love buying a new calendar each year and filling it with plans and goals, and I’m someone who believes strongly in the power of creating a clear vision of what I want to do and accomplish.
That said, I was recently reminded of the following sobering statistics:
On average, a person makes a resolution 10 different times without succeeding – and 60% of resolutions are abandoned within the first six months (25% within a week).
95% of people who lose weight on a diet regain it (or gain more).
I’ve got more statistics, but they are pretty depressing.
The thing is – when done correctly and with the right kind of support and strategy, most of the goals you have are probably attainable. And I bet that many of them could be accomplished with less stress and struggle and frustration. In fact, you might even be able to enjoy the process of attaining your goals. The problem is – we don’t know what we don’t know. Most of us get caught in a trap of trying to use the same strategy that hasn’t worked in the past and simply applying more effort and willpower to it.
A flawed strategy will never lead to success. Throwing more effort at a flawed plan will only lead to frustration and feeling ineffective.
Most of us have blind spots and ways of getting in our own way. If you are struggling with overeating and your weight, I’m willing to bet that there is a good reason you’ve developed the overeating habits that you have and some circumstances that make change challenging. And, I’m also willing to bet that you haven’t landed on the strategy that is best for you.
This is exactly why I created my group coaching and mastermind program. For the first time ever, I’m offering this personalized coaching program at the very beginning of the New Year – so that instead of floundering with resolutions and goals that overwhelm you or setting yourself up with another weight loss plan that isn’t going to work, I can show you how to escape from the weight loss hamster wheel, break free of crazy cycles of stress or overload, and creating an approach that not only works – it creates a ripple effect. It feels good and makes your life work better.
It’s up to you, but my recommendation is that, instead of going on another diet, you take a serious look at getting to the root of things, correcting the reason things haven’t worked in the past, and putting together a plan that is designed to take you where you want to go. This is our agenda for Where Thin Begins.
We take off on January 7 and the group (which will be kept small and personal) is filling now. Remaining seats will be filled on a first-come-first-served basis. Go here for all the details. And if this is right for you and you are ready to make 2015 your year, be sure to reserve your spot.
Take good care,
