What does self-care have to do with overeating? If you’re a busy woman, the answer is quite a lot. How many times have you turned to food, eaten past the point of fullness, or made a choice you really wished you hadn’t, and told yourself it’s because I deserve it?
It’s awfully easy to reach for something to eat as a substitute for really nourishing your soul or tending to your spirit (or your mind, or your body, or your needs), and when we’re busy, it can be tempting to shortchange ourselves instead of saying no to the other items that are calling to us from our calendars.
When we ignore the need for self-care, we always pay a price.
The flip side, is that when we make the effort to prioritize what we really need and crave, food often loses the grip we thought it had.
Need some reminders or some inspiration for making self-care a priority? Here are some powerful motivational quotes about self-care.
